A short story

Begun with a kitchen garden and one good idea.

Olive & Ash started the way most good things do — with too many courgettes. Our founders, Marta and Tom, planted more than they could ever eat, and so a long table appeared under the ash tree, and friends were fed, and they came back the following Sunday.

Today that table lives inside a restored stone barn just outside Bibury. We still cook only what's ready: vegetables pulled that morning, lamb from the farm down the lane, fish landed on the Cornish coast the day before. The menu is small, the welcome is unhurried, and there is always bread.

Come hungry, stay late, and let the seasons do the deciding.
